Welcome
Welcome to the website of Dr. Katharina Rynkiewich, a medical anthropologist whose research explores how people, microbes, and institutions interact in the age of antibiotic resistance.
She studies how doctors, pharmacists, and patients make decisions about antibiotic use, and how those choices connect to broader questions of ethics, responsibility, and ecological change.
Her work bridges anthropology, medicine, and the environment, revealing how everyday clinical practice shapes—and is shaped by—the wider worlds of health, policy, and microbial life.
